Li
Hewitt is an accomplished pole dancer and she believes there is a gap
in the marketplace in Ottawa. Pole dancing is getting a lot of press and
women were starting to say “I would like to give it a try”,
or “Could I do that”, but not necessarily wanting to be professionals.
Women genuinely are interested in how other women trained to become pole
dancers.
Li has an extensive background in art and fitness;
she is a professional fine artist and illustrator but always integrated
yoga and gymnastics into her life.
Li started her pole dance training at Sensual
Fitness in Ottawa, and then continued her training with one of the best
pole dance performers “Gravity Plays Favorites” from St.
Louis. Li loves the freedom and expression from Pole Fitness and the
strength and discipline needed to do it well.

Pole fitness is for every women size or shape, experienced or not all
can join a pole fitness exercise class. Participants with the following
conditions should not participate: (Back problems, Heart problems, Pregnancy,
previous or current muscle injury). Minimum age is 18 years old; there
is no upper age limit as long as none of the above medical conditions
apply. These classes are for woman only! If you are shy and really don’t
want to learn in a group fitness class then why not try a one on one
private class with Li.
Students are asked to arrive 5 minutes before their first class begins
to fill out our waiver and registration forms if they haven't already
done so. The class begins with a 10 minute warm up to increase the body’s
temperature, activate the joints and prepare the body. The next part
of the class is a 40 minute lesson on the pole. A lesson includes spins,
transitions and floor work moving into a routine designed for each student’s
level. To finish there is 10 minute stretching routine to cool down
and improve flexibility.

We recommend that you wear something that you can move and feel comfortable
in. Shorts and a vest top are usually good as it's important to have
bare arms and legs in order to get a good grip of the pole. If you have
kneepads, they would be useful for the floor work. Remember to bring
your water bottle and yoga mat but leave your jewelry at home. In the
cooler months you may bring your outfit to change into at the studio.

Creams and lotions stay in the pores of the skin and become greasy which
transfers to the pole making it slippery and dangerous. Please do not
wear any body creams or lotions on the day of your class. Please no
wearing rings during a class, the hard metal could scratch the pole
and also may damage your expensive jewelry.

Group Lessons are a great way to get fit, gain muscle tone and learn
to express another side of your personality while meeting new people
and getting out of your rut. Group classes are limited in size, one
hour once a week for 6 weeks. They are more focused on being progressive.
You start at level 1 and progress from there. There are one or two moves/tricks
being taught which will lead you to build a little routine at each class.
By end of the 6 week session at each level, you will have a routine
to dance and exercise with.
Private Lessons are designed for the individual
who wishes to learn the art of pole fitness quickly and consists of
a one hour intensive training between the instructor and student. This
session is highly recommended as the instructor has more time to concentrate
on the individual needs of each student.

here.

Group classes are limited to 12 students maximum and class is one hour
long. Private classes are limited to no more than 2 students and class
can be one or two hours long depending on your needs.

As with any physical fitness program, you should
do what you are comfortable with. Plus you need to follow the guidelines
of the instructor. You will inevitably get some bruises in the beginning
as your body adjusts to this type of activity.

No. There will be no exceptions. Even if your doctor said it was okay
you will not be permitted to participate.

Absolutely not, Pole Dancing is very unique.
No counts are ever used. It’s very hard to pole dance on a beat.

After you have registered online, payment can
be made at the studio at your first class. We accept cash or cheque.
Private functions will only be booked upon payment of a deposit of 30%
of the booking cost. Once a date has been booked, we require a minimum
of 14 days notice to change a booking. If you cancel a booking you will
forfeit any deposit paid. Full payment is due 48 hours before your function
starts.

The workshops are designed for beginner to intermediate pole dancers;
for both dancers and non-dancers to learn as much as they can about
pole dancing. Students will learn some basic to intermediate pole moves
and easy-to-follow choreographies.

Simply complete the on-line registration
form or you may drop by at the studio during open hours. Please call
before you are coming.

The studio is at 1066 Somerset Street West, at the corner of Bayswater.
Take the elevator down to B level, we are located in the lower level
suite B-101. Just look for the building entrance that says "Bayswater
Square". To get driving or bus directions check the Contact
page.

Cameras are allowed during Stagettes and Private Group Parties. Video
recording is allowed with certain restrictions. If you want to bring
a video camera, you may only record after the pole dancing lessons in
your stagettes or private group party. The recording can not include
the instructor, the instruction, or the lessons. You can record the
participants in your group only after the instructions and lessons have
been completed or during breaks between the instructions and lessons.
You can take digital still pictures anytime during your party. Digital
pictures can include everyone. No restrictions on still digital pictures.
For students registered in 6-week programs, you may bring your cameras
to your last class, and you’ll have opportunity at the end of
the last class to take sexy pictures of yourself and your classmates
with the poles, instructors, or even the water cooler for that matter!
What you do with the pictures is up to you!

Yes we do, please check our Classes
section. Memberships can only be purchased at the studio and you will
recieve a laminated membership card valid for 1 year. Membership includes
free practice time anytime the studio is open, plus free access to attend
Pole Yoga classes and classes that are at your current level or lower.
We also sell Gift Certificates good for 1 group
class or a weekly 6 week session, depending on your budget. Great idea
for Holiday or birthday gifts to your family or friends.

Students unable to attend a group class within a 6-week program (due
to personal schedule conflicts, unanticipated circumstances, etc.) will
not be permitted to make up for that missed class.
Students unable to attend a private class within a 6-week program will
be carried on to next class. We will need at least 24 hours notice to
allow other bookings.
Members can take advantage of any class at their
current level and don't have to worry about missing one class.

You can only drop in to Group
Classes and Pole Club Practice time. Private classes and Workshops are
reserved for registered clients only. You will need to pre-register
for a class to reserve your spot.

For private and group classes
a 100% refund will be given if you pre-pay for this event and cancel
before 72 hours of the event starting. If you pay for a six week session
and cancel after taking one class, there will be no refund. Since classes
are designed for up to 15 students maximum we sometimes have to turn
people away when the class is full. Therefore, if someone cancels this
leaves an empty spot that could have been filled. This is why our cancellation
policy states no refunds once a class begins. If you cancel 72 hours
before the class begins this gives us time to re-schedule someone else
into that spot.

Yes, just like any fitness club
we also require our students to sign a personal injury waiver.
This is why we require the minimum age to be 18, as this is the legal
age of adulthood in Canada and you should be aware of any and all risks
you are taking and agree to take these risks. If you are close to your
18th birthday a parent or legal guardian may sign on your behalf.
